Jojje Wadenius Band feat. Magnus Lindgren Interloop AMCD 908 If looking for a starting point for this project between legendary guitarist Georg Jojje Wadenius and multi-talented saxophonist, composer, arranger Magnus Lindgren 2002 is as good as any. That year Jojje recruited two fourths of Magnus' quartet, bass player Fredrik Jonsson and drummer Jonas Holgersson. Soon Magnus joined and in Spring 2004 the quartet did a Swedish tour (billed as Made in Sweden Mk 3) playing mostly new material, most of it jointly penned within the band. In early June they went into the famed Atlantis studio in Stockholm with producer Johan Norberg and technician Janne Hansson to record these new songs. After finishing touches and mixing was done in Norberg's Studio Krubaston it was decided that it would be more appropriate to come up with a new name for the band rather than use the Made in Sweden moniker once again. Thus the Jojje Wadenius Band was born. Their first album together is an exciting blend of music - cutting edge jazz, beautiful ballads and harddriving numbers with a burning live feeling as well as finely chiseled songs elaborately produced in the studio. A short Swedish tour is being booked right now to coincide with the release of the album.
