Headspin - Goran Kafjes

GORAN KAJFEŠ Headspin AMCD 899 Release date: May 12, 2004 Almost three years have passed since trumpeter Goran Kajfeš made his solo debut with ”Home”, an album that - for once - was well liked and made an impact on the jazz audience as well as a more trend-conscious and younger generation. ”Home” was nominated for a Grammy and also attracted a great deal of attention abroad. Since then he’s kept busy, with Oddjob, The Killers, Fläskkvartetten and as a studio musician on albums with popular artists such as Weeping Willows, Stina Nordenstam, Janet Jackson, Lisa Miskowsky, Bo Kaspers Orkester and others. Now the sequel has arrived. The album, entitled ”Headspin”, is a logical continuation and at the same time a completely new side of Goran Kajfeš’ musical persona. He has already proven his intuitive ability to weave jazz, electronica, dub and influences from all over the world. In his new album he also opens the door to his own backyard - the Balkans. Noted among the musicians are names like Per ”Texas” Johansson, Jesper Nordenström, Johan Bertling, Mattias Torell, ”Oddjob”-pals Per ”Ruskträsk” Johansson and Janne Robertson, Jonas Kullhammar, Davor Kajfeš, ADL, Timbuktu and not least David Österberg, who also produced the record.
