A collection immortalizing the complete works of the brilliant harmonica player from Santiago del Estero.
Two double sets that include the largest historic collection of Hugo Diaz's early work.
These first four cds -that come in two double sets- include his first recordings, from 1952 to 1957, and include his first recording and success Pájaro campana, recorded in the Radio Splendid studios in Buenos Aires.
ANTOLOGIA l & ll is a historic and meticulous review of those fundamental years in which he wins over Argentine and European audiences with a repertoire made up strictly of Argentine folk music. In those years and fronting his group Hugo Díaz y sus Changos, Domingo Cura, percussion, Victoria Díaz, vocals, José Pérez and Julio Carrizo and Nelson Múrua, guitars- he established himself as one of the best harmonica players in the world.
These sets went through a rigorous research process in the search for pieces that are introduced for the first time in cd format, including some that were not even published ever.
This anthology is also presented through a careful recovery and restoration process of audio and photographic material that includes wonderful renderings of pieces by authors such as Carlos Carabajal, Andrés Chazarreta, Cuchi Leguizamón, Adolfo Abalos and Hugo Díaz himself Zamba de los cuatro vientos, El perro and Motivo de polka among others.
