New recording featuring Kari Iveland and her band playing with choirs and musicians from Madagascar After releasing the "Vektløs" (Weightless) CD on the KKV label in 2002, Kari Iveland is now presenting music new and old from Madagascar, the first time music from this large island off the East-African coast is reaching a wider audience. Man's wanderings across this earth have left many impressions and on these journeys songs have travelled across oceans and continents and been heard and recreated far from their origins. Such are the impressions we are reminded of when we hear Kari Iveland's new CD. She has travelled to Madagascar and found new versions of the songs Europeans exported more than a hundred years ago. Just listen to traditional songs such as "O store Gud" (How Great Thou Art) or "Eg veit i himmerike ei borg" (I know a Castle in Heaven) as performed by a Madagascan choir to understand that there is a relationship between soil and soul.
