"We do not know anything about the circumstances in which the Jasna Gora collection got hold of a copy, most probably coming from Austria or Slask, of a Missa in C by Father Amando Ivancic, arguably the most distinguished composer cum a Pauline monk in the eighteenth century, whose personal relationship with the Czestochowa sanctuary have not yet been uncovered. The biography and output of this composer have been intensely scrutinised in recent years by musicologists from many countries. Certainly this may be attributed to the fact that on the one hand we have to deal with quite a large legacy (numbering about 100 identified works) of high artistic value, scattered among various archives and libararies of Central and Eastern Europe. On the other hand, the information on their author has so far been very scant."
